'Pinstagram' arrives for iPad

What do you get when you cross photo sharing app Instagram and rising social networking site Pinterest? Pinstagram, that's what.Pinstagram – launched last month to combine Instagram and Pinterest – has introduced its app for iPad, tech site Mashable reported.

Mashable said Pinstagram presents a user's Instagram feed in Pinterest’s signature waterfall layout, and lets one pin one's favorite Instagram photos to Pinterest boards.

Co-creator Pek Pongpaet said they opted for the web and now the iPad, as those are the platforms where Instagram is missing.“If people are already using Instagram on their iPhones. We’ll never be a better Instagram than Instagram, it would be duplicating Instagram’s effort,” said Pongpaet.

Pongpaet said they took advantage of the new iPad’s retina display, offering a high-resolution option as well as a full functionality for the iPad 1 and iPad 2.Mashable said the Pinstagram app offers the same features as the desktop experience.
